Preventing Paper Jams
A printer can get jammed for variety of reasons. The use of a wrong paper or the roller on the printer which feeds the paper through the pathway is often worn down and this causes a jam in the printer. In order to prevent the paper jams you should use clean, undamaged and unwrinkled paper. You should also make sure that the tray guides are properly set in accordance with the paper size.

Faded and Ghosting Condition

Faded conditions appear when the printer gets low on tone. As a result the print density goes too low or the Economode printing is turned on. On the other hand, the ghosting conditions appear where along with a proper image print a lighter copy of the image also gets printed elsewhere. This condition may occur due to certain problems with the power outlet that is responsible for the supply of power to the printer. Sometimes it is very difficult to troubleshoot the problems with the laser printers. However, once it is figured out, it will not be difficult to solve the problem.

Problem of Toner Smear

Toner smears is also a very common problem. In such cases, you should make sure that your paper, label, envelopes are in the right direction. You can remove the cartridge and gently shake it from left to right. This will make the toner spread out even and allow you to take a quality print.

Other Common Problems with Printers
Besides these common problems, the other problems that are associated with the laser printers are when the printer displays a 50.4 error message; or you cannot find a driver for a particular operating system or the printer picks up all the paper from the manual tray instead of one sheet. In all such cases the best option is to call for an expert repair person.

Tips for Fine Printing: Know How to Correctly Use the Printer

    * It is often a tough task to use Laser printers for envelope printing. So make sure you select the envelopes that are close to 20-lb paper in both weight as well as thickness. The adhesive that is used in the envelopes should also be capable of withstanding the heat that is ejected out by the printer to keep the printing on the page. If you find that the envelopes are wrinkled when they come out of the printer, you can understand that the path of the paper may be too stiff. In that case, you need to open the rear of the laser printer and make the exit at the location.

    * If paper tray is incorrectly used, the paper pick up rollers will not pull the paper into the printer. Insert the paper completely into the tray by handling the paper in the right manner. You should fan the paper lightly before you insert it as this will prevent the sticking of the paper.

There are expert professionals who can help you to deal with the problems associated with the laser printers. However, if you are acquainted with the common problems of laser printers you should be able to handle the situation well.
